For centuries man and nature have coexisted in harmony in the saws of Ronda and Ojén, where the so known in Malaga City Marquis of Larios, built their hunting refuge over which was built the parador “El Refugio del Juanar”, transformed into a Hotel now a days. Rustic and stately at the same time, the Refuge of Juanar is at 2.500 feet and offers the visitor the chance of enjoying life and mountains air with all the comfort and amenities of a category Hotel: tennis court, swimming pool, exquisite service, lounges and terraces, restaurant with excellent kitchen, perfectly equipped rooms (bath compliments, direct telephone, satellite TV., room service…)...just anything to assure our customers a comfortable and unforgettable stay.
El Refugio del Juanar has had the pleasure of hosting many distinguished guests (in fact, it was one of Alfonso XIII favorite resting places), as General Charles de Gaullue, who chose it as the perfect place to finish his memories in 1970.
El Refugio del Juanar also disposes of several conference rooms, with audio-visual equipment for a maximum of 60 persons

The "Refugio del Juanar" has rooms for up to 60 people, distributed in 20 double rooms, 1 single and 4 suites, all of them spacious and with lovely rustic wood decoration: bathroom with hair dryer and bath compliments, direct phone (fixed and wireless), local, national, and satellite TV. , mini-bar, central heating (air conditioning is not necessary), room service... being some of them oriented to the morning sun, and the rest to the evening sun.
Our suites or special rooms, also have chimney and Jacuzzi.

The El Refugio de Juanar kitchen prides itself of supplying tasty food inspired in the surrounding Landscape, where game dishes are a speciality: marinated partridge, venison, pheasant, quail, and, during hunting season, mountain goat. Seasonal vegetables are also very popular between our clients. We also recommend our delicious typical Spanish dishes such as the so famous Segovia-style roast suckling pig, lamb and roast kid, along with an array of international dishes.
El Refugio del Juanar also has a “Bodega” with more than 7.000 bottles of Rioja, Ribera del Duero…Just the best selection of Spanish wines.
By Car from Malaga City or Malaga Airport:
Take motorway A-7 direction “Benalmadena-Algeciras”. Pass Benalmadena, pass Fuengirola, and in Marbella, take exit “Ojén” ( A-355 ) and keep going towards “Coín” (do not take the little road to Ojén); At 11 km. from Marbella, in a crossroad you will find on you left a road sing saying “Refugio de Juanar”. Take this little road and follow up till you get to the Hotel (about 5 km.)
Public Transport (not recommended) from Malaga Airport:
Take a Train to Fuengirola, and there, take a bus to Marbella or Ojén. Once in there, take a taxi to the Hotel
